Commitment:

Trial Commitment: To commit to working under another director for a drama or two to determine if this is a ministry match for you, both in skills and time commitment.
Further Commitments: If it is determined that you have the skills needed to direct, the time commitment will be a discussion between you and the leader in order to come to an agreement on how much time will be required to direct a specific drama or an ongoing commitment.

Purpose

To use acting skills to further illustrate a message, inspire people or to cause them to question or research truth.

Job Description

  • Learning lines before rehearsals

Skills

  • Varied skill levels that can be used for small parts or main character roles
  • Ability to learn lines and deliver them well. Until actors know their lines and can deliver them well it is difficult for a director to "feel" the flow of the production and to know what needs attention.

  • Ability to adjust to the unexpected (ad-lib if needed)

Commitment:

Trial commitment: A commitment to involvement in a drama or two at which time it can be determined whether the volunteer is suited for drama or may have stronger gifts to be used in other areas to better serve the church and their own passions.

Further Commitments: Time commitments will be determined by the size of the production, the role of the volunteer and the amount of time needed to learn parts, amounts of rehearsals needed etc. and will be clearly laid out to the volunteer before accepting the role.

Overview

The Children's Ministry Team could always use people who are excited to serve and willing to collect, clean and sanitize and return the toys that our nursery, and Little People's Church classes use each week.

Goals

To assist staff in maintaining a clean environment for our children to learn, play and grow in.

Skills

  • Basic cleaning skills
  • Positive attitude towards service

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the toy cleaner to collect, sanitize and return toys to appropriate classrooms before service on Sunday morning.

Overview

The Little People's Team offers an engaging and exciting program that is aimed at children between the ages of 3-5. It coincides with the main Sunday service in order to provide childcare as well as engage children in fun, games and a curriculum that will all lead to the child's fuller understanding of Christ's love for them.

Goals

The primary goal of our team is to lead children into a fuller understanding of Christ's love and purpose for their lives. We offer a fun and engaging curriculum in an energetic and loving environment.

Skills

The Little People's Sunday School teacher assistant must be able to

  • Greet children and parents warmly
  • Some classroom management skills are an asset
  • Be playful and engaging
  • Support the teacher by helping with snack prep, clean up and games

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the teacher assistant to arrive in the classroom no later than 1/2 hour before the morning service on the Sunday indicated, work as a part of a team to provide a safe and fun environment for children to play and learn, serve a snack that has been prepared in advance by the snack ministry, support the teacher by helping with classroom management and do some light tidying at the end of service.

Requirements

TIME COMMITMENT – Although you may choose the frequency to which you serve, ideally the minimum would be once a month to in order to develop rapport with parents, children and teaching team.

Paperwork: You will be provided with an application form, job description, a protection plan and RCMP clearance letter.

Overview

The Children's Ministry Team could always use people who are willing to serve by teaching the age three to five year old class on Sunday mornings.

Goals

Our goal is to provide children with a fun and engaging environment to learn about Christ's amazing love and purpose for each child's life.

Skills

  • Comfort with Children
  • Classroom Management skills an asset
  • Ability to teach a predetermined and prepared curriculum in a fun and engaging manner

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the teacher to pre-read their curriculum before arriving in class, to come to class a half hour before service starts, and put some of the toys out for the kids. It is also the teacher's responsibility to warmly greet the children and their parents and then provide a safe and caring environment that is fun and engaging. To deliver curriculum to the children using our fantastic curriculum and prepare a fun game or craft to accompany the message.

Overview

The Children's Ministry team has a need for Relationship Builders to serve our Grade 1-5 children. This role is to be a part of an energetic team that strives to build relationships with the children who attend by facilitating group discussion on provided topics, engaging in sports and games that support the message and taking an interest in the lives of our young leaders of tomorrow. There is room to serve on Sunday Mornings Enthuse Service, summer camps, or Fun Friday Nights.

The Relationship Builders must be able to

  • Facilitate discussion on provided topics
  • Intentionally work on building positive relationships with the kids

Responsibilities

There are a variety of ways that you can serve as a relationship builder based on your interest and what times work best for you. We could use Relationship Builders to support our Sunday School Teachers at Sunday Morning Service, Fun Friday Nights, or during Summer Camp.

Overview

The Nursery Caregivers work as part of a team to provide loving, nurturing and safe caregiving to children less than 3 years of age during the Sunday morning service.

Goals

The primary goal of our team is to provide the highest quality of care to our church's youngest members so that parents are able to relax and feel safe knowing their children are being cared for. This act of service helps remove barriers to parents being able to engage in the Sunday morning service.

Skills

The Nursery Caregiver position requires basic childcare skills such as:

  • Baby snuggling
  • Bottle feeding
  • Diaper changing
  • Baby Burping

Nursery caregivers also need to be willing to engage in age appropriate playful interactions with children.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the Nursery Caregiver to arrive at the Nursery a half hour before the service on Sunday mornings and come willing to serve the children by greeting parents and children with warmth, safely and age appropriately engage in play with the children, change diapers, bottle feed, snuggle and rock babies and assist parents with arrival and pick up of child.

Overview

The Children's Ministry Team is seeking talented people who are willing to lead the Little People's Church music for the first part of their morning service.

Goals

To lead children in songs that are easy to learn, support the message, and have fun and engaging actions.

Skills

  • Varied musical skills from beginner to advance

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the Song Leader to select three songs from the CDs or DVDs that are provided, create or learn actions that accompany and arrive at the Little People's Church classrooms prepared by 10:45 on Sunday morning. The Song Leader will then lead the children through their preselected songs in an energetic and fun fashion.

Requirements

TIME COMMITMENT – You may choose the frequency that you serve in this ministry, but once a month is recommended.
Must be in the classrooms between 10:45-11:05 on Sunday mornings.

Overview

The Children's Ministry Team could always use people who are willing to provide a healthy and nutritious snack to our children on Sunday morning. As part of our morning program the children are provided a small, nutritious snack and we need people who are willing to prepare and deliver that snack to our classrooms on Sunday mornings.

Goals

To remove barriers to learning by providing a healthy and nourishing snack to each child in our program.

Skills

Basic food preparation
A positive attitude towards service

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the Snack Preparer to purchase and prepare a healthy snack for each child in our Sunday morning service and deliver it to the classroom before the service starts.
