About People's Church

People's Vision

It is our vision of a place where everyone will find grace, love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.

It is our vision of a place where thousands of Peace Country residents will hear the clear, concise, practical presentation of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
It is our vision of developing people to spiritual maturity through bible studies, and fellowship of God's family, where they are restored physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

It is our vision to equip every believer for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God gave them.

People's History

People's Church began in January of 1981 in the living room of a home. There were 11 adults present at the first service held. Later that year, we moved from the home to rented facilities at Alexander Forbes School. The young congregation continued to grow and in the same year, leased the old Anglican church in the downtown core.

Over the next 8 years, the congregation continued to expand in that location adding the hall next door to its leased facilities. Also in 1986, the congregation purchased 8.71 acres of creek bank property as part of its overall strategy for a future permanent home.

In 1989, we continued our expansion by purchasing a warehouse in the industrial park district, which was then renovated for church use. The thought, at the time of purchase, was that this would be an excellent asset for the future.

We will grow a powerful local church in our community and of the community.

"What on Earth am I Here For?"

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Statement Of Faith

1. ABOUT GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14

2. ABOUT MANKIND

We are all made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates us from God.

A message from our Senior Pastor, Nelson Jones

Dear Friend,

I want to thank you for your interest in People’s Church. People’s is a church where people matter because people matter to God and that is our message to you today. “You Matter to God and Us.”

Here at People's, we'll make sure the first face you see when you approach the church has a smile on it.  Whether you are finding a parking space or looking for childcare, a volunteer will be nearby to help you get where you need to go.

Don't be concerned with what you are wearing.  We're more concerned with meeting your real-life needs than with what you wear.  So, dress casually and enjoy our upbeat music.
