Day 26: Why Impact?

Written by Nelson Jones

One of my favourite movies is "A Christmas Carol" written by Charles Dickens about a Scrooge who only knew how to live for himself but changes at a late hour of his life to make a great impact!

The readers from many generations have enjoyed the writings of Charles Dickens, whether it was Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, or the timeless A Christmas Carol.

In the end, though it was not the great books he wrote nor the lengthy eulogy in the London Times when he died that will be recorded in eternity, but the inheritance he left in his will. He wrote: "I commit my soul to the mercy of God, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and I exhort my dear children humbly to try and guide themselves by the teaching of the New Testament."His last point of impact was to exhort his Children to live as followers of Jesus Christ and to be prepared for eternity!

So why impact? The answer is found in the value of your own soul and the value of all of the souls that will grace your life!

Your soul is eternal.
Impact is eternal.
God promised this.

"...a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time."

- Titus 1:2
