Nursery Caregivers

Overview

The Nursery Caregivers work as part of a team to provide loving, nurturing and safe caregiving to children less than 3 years of age during the Sunday morning service.

Goals

The primary goal of our team is to provide the highest quality of care to our church's youngest members so that parents are able to relax and feel safe knowing their children are being cared for. This act of service helps remove barriers to parents being able to engage in the Sunday morning service.

Skills

The Nursery Caregiver position requires basic childcare skills such as:

  • Baby snuggling
  • Bottle feeding
  • Diaper changing
  • Baby Burping

Nursery caregivers also need to be willing to engage in age appropriate playful interactions with children.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the Nursery Caregiver to arrive at the Nursery a half hour before the service on Sunday mornings and come willing to serve the children by greeting parents and children with warmth, safely and age appropriately engage in play with the children, change diapers, bottle feed, snuggle and rock babies and assist parents with arrival and pick up of child.

Requirements

TIME COMMITMENT – Although you may choose the frequency to which you serve, ideally the minimum would be once a month in order to develop rapport with parents, children and nursery team.

Paperwork: You will be provided with an application form, job description, a protection plan and RCMP clearance letter.
